Your clinic (and your clients ) will benefit from the right ultrasound machine. When you go shopping for the best ultrasound machine that will give you value for your money, both your patients' and yours, be sure the ultrasound has all the capabilities that you need.
Portable ultrasound machines are manufactured that specialize in particular ultrasound scanning modalities. A basic system may only perform routine OB and emergency room (quick-scans). More sophisticated machines can specialize in cardiology, emergency/trauma, musculoskeletal, neurology, OB/GYN, radiology, sports medicine, urology, and vascular applications. Be sure to think in terms of probable future requirements when purchasing your ultrasound, it is much less expensive to acquire a machine capable of more scans up front than it is to try to upgrade some models.
